I took the night off from the kitchen, and we ordered pizza, from one of several choice sources we alternate ordering from on such occasions. Tonight it was Waldy’s Wood Fired Pizza.

• their kitchen’s ‘Classic Margherita Pizza’, but with the addition of prosciutto and wild mushrooms, and some of the restaurant’s really excellent red pepper flakes sprinkled over the top
• the wine was a California (Central Coast) red, Rick Boyer Santa Barbara Pinot Noir 2016, from Naked Wines
• the music was Bohuslav Martinů’s, ‘The Epic of Gilgamesh’, the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Manfred Honeck, solists Lucy Crowe, Andrew Staples, Derek Welton, and Jan Martiník, plus Simon Callow, narrator, with the Prague Philharmonic Choir under the direction of Lukáš Vasilek
