{"id":8446,"date":"2016-06-26T19:27:10","date_gmt":"2016-06-26T19:27:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/?p=8446"},"modified":"2016-06-26T19:27:10","modified_gmt":"2016-06-26T19:27:10","slug":"eggs-herbsspices-bacon-cress-tomato-grill-crusty-bread","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/?p=8446","title":{"rendered":"eggs, herbs\/spices; bacon, cress, tomato grill, crusty bread"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8447\" src=\"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/eggs-bacon_bread_tomato_ress.jpg\" alt=\"eggs-bacon_bread_tomato_ress\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It was also lunch.<\/p>\n<p>It was pretty hastily thrown together around noon today, and the ingredients included some which had ben prepared fresh for\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/2016\/06\/26\/speck-wild-cress-grilled-spicy-salmon-flat-beans-tomato\/\">the meal the night before<\/a>\u00a0( call it\u00a0&#8216;overstock&#8217;).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The eggs and bacon were from Millport Dairy; the\u00a0San Marzano tomatoes, seasoned, pan-grilled, then drizzled with olive oil and white balsamic\u00a0vinegar, were from Stokes Farm; there were at least half a dozen herbs, from (various) local farms, tossed around among both the eggs and the torn branches of some wonderful flowering half-wild watercress\u00a0from Lucky Dog Organic Farm; various spring alliums from two different local farms, sliced, were added to the pan in which the eggs were frying; there were 5 different peppercorns (including &#8216;pink peppercorns&#8217;, which are not actually pepper) and several pinches of some kind of paprika, an unlabelled bonus envelope inside the\u00a0package of sauces I had ordered from\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nyshuk.com\/shop\/lekama\">L\u2019eKama<\/a>\u00a0a while back;\u00a0and\u00a0the\u00a0bread was a\u00a0Bien Cuit baguette from Foragers Market<\/li>\n<li>the music, on this anniversary of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/politics\/archive\/2013\/01\/an-amazing-1969-account-of-the-stonewall-uprising\/272467\/\">Stonewall<\/a>, was that of the\u00a0brilliant,\u00a0kindly, generous, out-queer composer, Lou Harrison,\u00a0from the Naxos album, &#8216;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.naxos.com\/catalogue\/item.asp?item_code=CDS221\">Homage to Lou Harrison<\/a>&#8216;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It was also lunch.
