This was one of my most successful outings with this noble fish.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>two 6 1\/2-ounce swordfish steaks from Pura Vida Seafood,\u00a0in the Union Square Greenmarket, marinated for less than a half hour\u00a0in a mixture of olive oil, a very small amount of dried <em>Itria-Sirissi chili, peperoncino di Sardegna intero<\/em> from Buon Italia, chopped fresh wild mint\u00a0from Berried Treasures Farm, and much of a finely-chopped stem of a red-tinged Japanese scallion from Norwich Meadows Farm, after which it was\u00a0drained well,\u00a0covered with a coating which was a mix of dried homemade bread crumbs, then pan-grilled over medium-high heat for 4\u00a0to\u00a05 minutes on each side,\u00a0removed, seasoned with salt and pepper, sprinkled with a little organic lemon juice from Whole Foods, a little more scallion, and\u00a0drizzled with olive oil before serving<\/li>\n<li>halved and seasoned San Marzano tomatoes from Stokes\u00a0Farm, pan-grilled and finished with a dab of olive oil and a bit of balsamic vinegar<\/li>\n<li>a little\u00a0puntarelle from Paffenroth Gardens, prepared <a href=\"https:\/\/racheleats.wordpress.com\/2008\/11\/07\/puntarelle-alla-romana\/\">in the Roman manner<\/a><\/li>\n<li>the wine was a French (Aude) white, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.laurent-miquel.com\/en\/our-wines\/albarino\/\">Laurent Miquel Albarino Lagrasse France 2014<\/a><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"s1\">the music was Q2 Music streaming, notably\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eamdc.com\/psny\/composers\/fred-lerdahl\/works\/third-string-quartet\/\">Fred Lerdahl&#8217;s\u00a0<\/a><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eamdc.com\/psny\/composers\/fred-lerdahl\/works\/third-string-quartet\/\"><span class=\"s1\">String Quartet No. 3<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I think I&#8217;m finally beginning to\u00a0understand swordfish, at least on\u00a0an epicurean level.
