{"id":7476,"date":"2016-03-22T01:29:20","date_gmt":"2016-03-22T01:29:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/?p=7476"},"modified":"2016-03-22T01:29:20","modified_gmt":"2016-03-22T01:29:20","slug":"bacon-eggs-tomato-wild-garlic-herbs-spices-toast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/?p=7476","title":{"rendered":"bacon, eggs, tomato, wild garlic, herbs, spices, toast"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/bacon_eggs_tomato_etc.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-7478\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7478\" src=\"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/bacon_eggs_tomato_etc.jpg\" alt=\"bacon_eggs_tomato_etc\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Since we would be heading out to the <a href=\"http:\/\/thejewishmuseum.org\/\">Jewish Museum<\/a> afterward, I suppose this hearty Sunday breakfast\u00a0could be called &#8216;unorthodox&#8217;, in light of the title of <a href=\"http:\/\/thejewishmuseum.org\/exhibitions\/unorthodox\">the museum&#8217;s current show<\/a> of that title. \u00a0That same afternoon we were also able to visit some of the rooms of the <a href=\"http:\/\/thejewishmuseum.org\/exhibitions\/culture-and-continuity-the-jewish-journey\">permanent exhibition<\/a>, which I can heartily recommend to anyone.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the thick bacon from the Amish farmers in Pennsylvania, <a href=\"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/2015\/01\/23\/geraucherte-schweinshaxe-sauerkraut-kartoffeln\/\">Millport Dairy<\/a> was fried very slowly over a very low flame<\/li>\n<li>the eggs were also from Millport Dairy, fried in the bit of fat rendered earlier by the bacon, but only after a little butter had been added to the pan, then enriched\u00a0with condiments which included, Maldon salt, some ground\u00a0highly-pungent <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chowhound.com\/post\/question-penzeys-black-peppercorns-786715\">\u2018India Special Extra Bold\u2019 Tellicherry peppercorns<\/a>, wild garlic from Lani&#8217;s Farm, a bit of dried\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sardissimo.com\/\">Itria-Sirissi<\/a>\u00a0chili (<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.zafferanodisardegna.it\/peperoncino.htm#PEPERONCINO INTERO ITRIA\">peperoncino di Sardegna intero<\/a><\/em>) from Buon Italia, and, after the photo above was taken,\u00a0a very wonderful aromatic seasoning blend called\u00a0<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nyshuk.com\/shop\/lekama\">L\u2019eKama<\/a><\/em><\/li>\n<li>the tomatoes were halved Backyard Farms Maine \u2018cocktail tomatoes\u2019 from Whole Foods, briefly saut\u00e9ed in the pan in which the bacon and eggs had\u00a0cooked, then sprinkled with Maldon salt, with fresh oregano from Stokes Farm which I had been keeping alive since last fall [yup.]<\/li>\n<li>the bread for the toast was &#8216;rustic\u00a0classic&#8217;\u00a0from\u00a0Eataly<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Since we would be heading out to the Jewish Museum afterward, I suppose this hearty Sunday breakfast\u00a0could be called &#8216;unorthodox&#8217;, in light of the title of the museum&#8217;s current show of that title. \u00a0That same afternoon we were also able to visit some of the rooms of the permanent exhibition, which I can heartily recommend &hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[2],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-7476","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-meals-at-home"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/7476","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=7476"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/7476\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=7476"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=7476"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=7476"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
