Somehow we had already misplaced\u00a0all of the morning hours by the time we discussed this, so, while it looks like breakfast, I&#8217;ll call the meal lunch, in fact it was a <em>late<\/em> lunch.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the eggs were from Millport Dairy, as was the thick, &#8216;country-style&#8217; bacon; the\u00a0cress was from Max Creek Hatchery, and it was dressed with a good Umbrian olive oil (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ristodoc.com\/index.php?option=com_content&amp;view=article&amp;id=734:azienda-agricola-luciana-cerbini&amp;catid=57:olio&amp;Itemid=112\">Luciana Cerbini Casa Gola<\/a>), from Buon Italia and a small squeeze of a small lemon\/line citrus fruit from Fantastic Gardens; the toast was Grand Daisy Pugliese Pane, from Whole Foods; the eggs were sprinkled with half\u00a0of one not-so-very-hot Cayenne thin red pepper from Oak Grove Plantation;\u00a0there was salt and pepper on both the greens and the eggs;<\/li>\n<li>there was <a href=\"http:\/\/tricklingspringscreamery.com\/\">Trickling Springs Creamery<\/a>\u00a0whole milk, and\u00a0afterwards, espresso<\/li>\n<li>the music was still more of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.wqxr.org\/#!\/\">WQXR<\/a>\u2018s annual 10-day, year-end <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cc-seas.columbia.edu\/wkcr\/story\/bach-festival-2015\">Bach Festival<\/a>, which will be streaming until midnight, New Years Eve<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>sometimes the classics are enough, but\u00a0they can always take a bit of a tweak &nbsp; It was the Feast of St. Stephen, a holiday in many Christian parts, suggesting the need for a special breakfast to begin the day. \u00a0We really wanted eggs, and we had all the fixings.
