{"id":5701,"date":"2015-10-18T05:29:38","date_gmt":"2015-10-18T05:29:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/?p=5701"},"modified":"2015-10-18T05:29:38","modified_gmt":"2015-10-18T05:29:38","slug":"spaghetti-red-onion-italian-sausage-savoy-cabbage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/?p=5701","title":{"rendered":"spaghetti, red onion, Italian sausage, savoy cabbage"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/spaghetti_sweet_sausage_cabbage1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5703\" src=\"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/spaghetti_sweet_sausage_cabbage1.jpg\" alt=\"spaghetti_sweet_sausage_cabbage\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Note to self: \u00a0This is a great dish, but the amount of cabbage suggested in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marthastewart.com\/337818\/spaghetti-with-sweet-sausage-and-cabbage\">the recipe<\/a> which inspired it should be reduced dramatically, by half, or even more.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I had not been looking at the forecast at all, so I didn&#8217;t choose\u00a0this entr\u00e9e because we\u00a0were expected to\u00a0get the\u00a0first real taste of colder weather the night I put this dish\u00a0together, but obviously a meal\u00a0which included cabbage and sausage was a welcome greeting for a new\u00a0season.<\/p>\n<p>The basic form of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marthastewart.com\/337818\/spaghetti-with-sweet-sausage-and-cabbage\">the recipe<\/a> (which was\u00a0in fact itself pretty basic, with few ingredients) comes from Martha Stewart. It was delicious, but, as I mentioned above, the amount of cabbage she\u00a0prescribes is far more than needed. \u00a0There was enough left over to allow\u00a0another visit with it, even as an entr\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>eight ounces of Setaro spaghetto\u00a0from Buon Italia, tossed with a sauce which included\u00a014 ounces of\u00a0&#8216;Jane&#8217;s So Sweet&#8217;\u00a0Italian pork sausages from Flying Pigs Farm (the minimal ingredients are: pork, water, salt, black pepper, fennel, and garlic, in natural hog casings) one 24-ounce savoy cabbage from Berried Treasures, one large red onion from\u00a0John D.
