{"id":4497,"date":"2015-06-25T16:15:15","date_gmt":"2015-06-25T16:15:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/?p=4497"},"modified":"2015-06-25T16:15:15","modified_gmt":"2015-06-25T16:15:15","slug":"grilled-tuna-fennel-seed-squash-and-squash-stems","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/?p=4497","title":{"rendered":"grilled tuna, fennel seed; squash and squash stems"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/tuna_squash_stems1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4501\" src=\"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/tuna_squash_stems1.jpg\" alt=\"tuna_squash_stems\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Last night I brought to the table two aspects from\u00a0two different summer squash, purchased on two different days, from two separate farmers. \u00a0Oh yes, there were also pan-grilled tuna steaks.<\/p>\n<p>Note: \u00a0The Sierra pepper was pretty mild, by nature, so I eventually added more of the colorful\u00a0chopped morsels, but unfortunately only after snapping this picture.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>two 7-ounce sections of tuna loin\u00a0from Blue Moon Fish\u00a0Company, rubbed on both top and bottom\u00a0with a mixture of fennel seed and dried peperoncini, ground together, further seasoned with salt, and pepper, then pan-grilled for only a minute or so on each side, finished with a good squeeze of lemon and a drizzle of olive oil<\/li>\n<li>a large handful of organic squash leaves, buds, and stems picked up from\u00a0Zaid at Norwich Meadows farm on Monday, saut\u00e9ed in olive oil with slices of one\u00a0small organic garlic clove from Trader Joe&#8217;s, then reserved and later added to a broad pan in which\u00a0chunks of yellow summer squash collected from Gwen Rogowski at Rogowshi Farm that day had been saut\u00e9ed with\u00a0another\u00a0organic garlic clove from Trader Joe&#8217;s, this time just split in two, and then, just as\u00a0the squash was caramelizing, three\u00a0thin scallions from John D. Madura Farm, sliced, and one sierra pepper from Whole Foods, chopped, added, the\u00a0vegetable finished with chopped lovage from Keith&#8217;s Farm<\/li>\n<li>the wine was a California ros\u00e9, <a href=\"https:\/\/us.nakedwines.com\/wines\/david-akiyoshi-sangiovese-rose-lodi-2014.htm\">David Akiyoshi Sangiovese Ros\u00e9 Lodi California 2014<\/a><\/li>\n<li>the music was the two Haydn cello concertos<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last night I brought to the table two aspects from\u00a0two different summer squash, purchased on two different days, from two separate farmers. \u00a0Oh yes, there were also pan-grilled tuna steaks.
