turf&#8217;, added\u00a0an additional sturdiness on\u00a0a stormy night.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>two crab cakes from P.E. &amp; D.D.\u00a0Seafood,\u00a0(ingredients: crab, egg, flour, red &amp; green peppers, garlic, salt, pepper, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, milk, celery, parsley), heated in a heavy iron pan, four minutes to each side, then placed on a bed of greens (collard and some kale), chopped Applegate Naturals prosciutto from Whole Foods, sliced\u00a0spring garlic from Norwich Meadows Farm, some\u00a0juice of a lemon from Fantastic Gardens of Long Island, in a procedure\u00a0mostly following the vegetable portion of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodsamba.com\/2010\/09\/seared-scallops-with-collard-green.html\">Emma Ribiero&#8217;s recipe<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>\u201918K Gold Nugget\u2019 (actually, \u2018Nicola\u2019 in this\u00a0batch) potatoes from Mountain Sweet Berry Farm, boiled in salted water, drained and steamed dry, rolled with a small amount of olive oil\u00a0and freshly-ground black pepper and chopped winter savory from Whole Foods<\/li>\n<li>the wine was a South African white, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.winedynamics.co.za\/portfolio\/excelsior#EXC2012\">De Wets Excelsior\u00a0Chardonnay 2014<\/a><\/li>\n<li>the music was an magnificent performance\u00a0of Hans Werner Henze&#8217;s incredible, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.naxos.com\/catalogue\/item.asp?item_code=8.573289\">&#8216;Il Vitalino Raddoppiato&#8217;<\/a>\u00a0 (exceptionally\u00a0for us during a meal, we hardly said a word\u00a0through the almost-half-hour duration of the piece)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Note to self: \u00a0The dinner and wine were both delicious, but the music was extraordinary, plus\u00a0a huge surprise, since I had thought, as a huge fan of\u00a0Hans Werner Henze for well over half a century,\u00a0I was familiar with virtually all the\u00a0recorded\u00a0heterogeneous\u00a0work of this awesome leftist, queer musical and theatrical genius. &nbsp;
