{"id":2765,"date":"2014-12-07T19:35:32","date_gmt":"2014-12-07T19:35:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/?p=2765"},"modified":"2014-12-07T19:35:32","modified_gmt":"2014-12-07T19:35:32","slug":"leftovers-other-good-things-a-felicitous-salmagundi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/?p=2765","title":{"rendered":"leftovers, other good things: a felicitous salmagundi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/chorizo_roast_roots_polenta.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2767\" src=\"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/chorizo_roast_roots_polenta.jpg\" alt=\"chorizo_roast_roots_polenta\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Our cold\u00a0larder (okay, our <em>refrigerator<\/em>) had accumulated excellent leftovers from\u00a0meals of\u00a0the days before as well, and we had some fresh vegetables waiting to be put together for one or more dinners to come. \u00a0I took\u00a0advantage of the bounty\u00a0by combining all\u00a0with two sausages\u00a0from a package I had just purchased the day before; \u00a0it was not to be\u00a0a\u00a0m\u00e9lange, but it turned out to be\u00a0a homey treat on a chilly evening, its ethnicity\u00a0indeterminate. \u00a0 Also, I guess we could call it a <em>warm<\/em> <a href=\"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/2014\/08\/27\/a-picnic-at-home-speck-eggplant-tomato-cheese\/\">picnic<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>cooked polenta from this <a href=\"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/2014\/12\/02\/sweet-cherry-tomato-sausage-bake-with-polenta\/\">tomato and sausage bake<\/a>, topped with drops of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tabasco.com\/tabasco-products\/sauces\/tabasco-chipotle-sauce\/\">chipotle Tabasco<\/a><\/li>\n<li>a roasted mix of celeriac from Norwich Meadows Farm, carrots from Whole Foods, shallots from Keith&#8217;s Farm, celery from Whole Foods, fennel fronds from Phillips Farm, one bay leaf from Westside Market, garlic from S.S.&amp;O.
