D. Seafood, wasn&#8217;t at the Union Square Greenmarket that day. Since I had learned this from the list on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grownyc.org\/greenmarket\/ourmarkets\">GrowNYC.org\u200e app<\/a>, and because I had plenty of vegetables on hand, I didn&#8217;t have to head for the square that day, but because I had a package of their wonderful crab cakes inside our freezer, we were still able to enjoy their bounty that evening.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>two crab cakes from PE &amp; DD Seafood (crab, egg, flour, red &amp; green peppers, garlic, salt, pepper, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, milk, celery, and parsley) that I had been storing inside the freezer, defrosted before I began heating them above a low to medium flame, with a drizzle of olive oil, inside a small cast iron pan, 3 to 4 minutes to each side, served on a fresh salsa composed of 9 small green tomatoes from Keith&#8217;s Farm cut into thick slices, a finely chopped section of a small stalk of celery and most of one one small thinly sliced red onion, both from Norwich Meadows Farm,\u00a02 different kinds and colors of finely chopped small sweet seasoning peppers,\u00a0<em>aji dulce<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Granada, both from Eckerton Hill Farm, torn Thai mint from Lani&#8217;s Farm, all moistened with a little olive oil<\/li>\n<li>roughly 12 ounces of la Ratte potatoes from Norwich Meadows Farm,\u00a0boiled with a generous amount of salt until barely cooked through, drained, halved, dried while inside the large, still-warm vintage\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ndga.net\/articles\/gmflameware.php\">Corning Pyrex Flameware glass pot<\/a>\u00a0in which they had cooked, a tablespoon or so of olive oil added, seasoned with local P.E. &amp; D.D. sea salt, freshly-ground black pepper, tossed with\u00a0purple micro radish from Windfall Farms<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There was a cheese course.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>a bit of <a href=\"http:\/\/riverineranch.com\/\">Riverine Ranch<\/a> water buffalo milk washed rind cheese and the same amount of\u00a0an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ardithmae.com\/\">Ardith Mae Farmstead<\/a>\u00a0mixed goat and cow milk camembert<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>toasts from slices of a\u00a0<em>miche<\/em>\u00a0from\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.runnerandstone.com\/\">Runner &amp; Stone Bakery<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the wine throughout was a Spanish (Pened\u00e8s) white, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jennyandfrancois.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/azimut-white.jpeg\">Azimut blanc<\/a>,\u00a0from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foragersmarket.com\/location\/foragers-wine\/\">Foragers Wine<\/a><\/li>\n<li>the music throughout was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/music\/2019\/nov\/28\/beethoven-leonore-review-rene-jacobs-fidelio-harmonia-mundi-cds\">the 1805 opera, &#8216;Lenore&#8217;,\u00a0Leonore, Beethoven\u2019s first version of the 1815 &#8216;Fidelio&#8217;, performed by\u00a0Ren\u00e9 Jacobs and the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Because of what the severe weekend weather had done for local fishing, our regular Monday fishmonger, P.E. &amp; D.
