I\u2019ve reproduced the first modest entry below.<\/p>\n<p>It appears to have been before the era of photography.<\/p>\n<p>So I\u2019m just going to add some color here, before I do anything else.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-21618\" src=\"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/red.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"425\" height=\"425\" \/><\/p>\n<header class=\"entry-header\">\n<div class=\"entry-meta\"><time class=\"entry-date published\" datetime=\"2009-03-16T14:36:33+00:00\"><a href=\"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/2009\/03\/16\/dinner-march-16-2009\/\" rel=\"bookmark\">MARCH 16, 2009<\/a><\/time><\/div>\n<h1 class=\"entry-title\"><a href=\"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/2009\/03\/16\/dinner-march-16-2009\/\" rel=\"bookmark\">dinner, March 16, 2009<\/a><\/h1>\n<div class=\"entry-meta\"><\/div>\n<\/header>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<ul>\n<li><strong>ham steak<\/strong>\u00a0(from\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flyingpigsfarm.com\/\">Flying Pigs Farm<\/a>, at the Union Square Greenmarket) with walnut butter, breadcrumbs, and parsley (adapted from Mimi Sheraton\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.indiebound.org\/aff\/bloggy09?product=9780394401386\"><em>The German Cookbook<\/em><\/a>), served with\u00a0<strong>oven fries<\/strong>\u00a0seasoned with ground coriander (the simple recipe is from\u00a0<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bonappetit.com\/magazine\/2008\/08\/oven_fries_with_coriander_seeds\">Bon Appetit<\/a><\/em>) using Red Adirondack potatoes, also from Union Square Greenmarket<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>cheese<\/strong>\u00a0course:\u00a0 two Spanish cheeses, Valde\u00f3n (blue) from Le\u00f3n, and Garrotxa from Catalonia, plus a bit of\u00a0 Bucheron (French, Loire), served with \u201cOrganic Seeduction\u201d (6 seeds or grains) bread from Whole Foods<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>wine: Messmer Sp\u00e4tburgunder 2007 (<strong>German Pinot Noir<\/strong>\u00a0from the Pfalz), purchased at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/uvawines.com\/\">Uva<\/a>\u00a0in Williamsburg<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>[the image, of \u2018Times Square 106 Primary Red Gel Filter Sheet 10\u2033 x 10\u2033, is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Times-Square-Primary-Filter-Sheet\/dp\/B004GE19E2\">from Amazon<\/a>]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I began writing this blog 10 years ago today.
