I was determined to use them in Sunday night&#8217;s meal, but the amount wasn&#8217;t going to be enough to serve with the pasta I had in mind to prepare. The remaining tomato was pretty big, but I couldn&#8217;t include just some of it, so the dish ended up less like a ravioli <em>con tomate<\/em> and more like a ravioli<em> en brodo<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-18255\" src=\"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Norwich_heirlooms.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>two sliced fresh\u00a0garlic cloves from Alex&#8217;s Tomato Farm and a thinly-sliced section of a stem of a flowering spring shallot from Keith\u2019s Farm heated together in a little olive oil over medium heat inside a large tin-lined high-sided copper\u00a0pot\u00a0until the alliums were pungent, and just before that moment part of a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/?s=habanada+pepper\">dried Habanada pepper<\/a>, crushed, was introduced into and the pot and stirred for a minute, then several heirloom tomatoes from Norwich Meadows Farm, roughly chopped, and some chopped fresh marjoram flower buds, also from Norwich Meadows Farm, were added to the the mix and stirred a little\u00a0before a 10-ounce package of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.giovanniranausa.com\/products\/artichoke-ravioli.html\">Rana artichoke-filled ravioli<\/a> from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eataly.com\/us_en\/stores\/nyc-flatiron\/\">Eataly Flatiron<\/a> that had been boiled for barely 3 minutes\u00a0before being\u00a0drained was tossed into the pot, the pasta carefully stirred over medium heat for a while to reduce somewhat what was basically tomato liquid, and served, when ready, inside 2 shallow bowls, additional marjoram buds tossed on top<\/li>\n<li>the wine was an Italian (<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Calabrian_wine\">Calabria<\/a>) white,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/flatiron-wines.com\/scala-ciro-bianco-2017\">Scala, Ciro Bianco, 2017<\/a>, from <a href=\"https:\/\/flatiron-wines.com\/\">Flatiron Wines<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-18252\" src=\"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/melon_gelato_raspberry.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There was a dessert, basically the one we didn&#8217;t get to at <a href=\"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/2018\/07\/29\/culotte-grilled-eggplant-marjoram-tomatoes-micro-basil\/\">dinner the previous evening<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-18256\" src=\"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/raspberries.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a scoop of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.talentigelato.com\/products\/vanilla-bean-gelato\">Talenti Vanilla Bean Gelato\u00a0<\/a>from Whole Foods Market dropped into a hollowed-out deseeded\u00a0core of half of an Asian\/Korean melon from Norwich Meadows Farm, some raspberries from Berried Treasures Farm scattered over the top, and finished with some of the berries, mashed with a little turbinado sugar and a splash of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.capriflavors.com\/index.php?main_page=product_info&amp;cPath=1&amp;products_id=1593&amp;zenid=0fa0a1fdceefabc7f9e173668e79b855\">Toschi Orzata Orgeat<\/a>\u00a0syrup<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the music was the album, &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nmcrec.co.uk\/recording\/all-fours\">Mark-Anthony Turnage, &#8216;On All Fours<\/a>&#8216;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I had a pound or so of heirloom tomatoes, less than a third of which were super ripe (which is good, when it comes to heirlooms).
