{"id":18125,"date":"2018-07-22T23:35:49","date_gmt":"2018-07-22T23:35:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/?p=18125"},"modified":"2018-07-22T23:35:49","modified_gmt":"2018-07-22T23:35:49","slug":"labneh-garlic-lemon-egg-fenugreek-lekama-micro-radish","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/?p=18125","title":{"rendered":"labneh, garlic, lemon, egg, fenugreek, l\u2019ekama, micro radish"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-18127\" src=\"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/labneh_eggs_micro_radish.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This was not our fathers&#8217; Sunday breakfast.<\/p>\n<p>It started with the water buffalo <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Strained_yogurt\">labneh<\/a> (a creamy, tangy Middle Eastern yogurt strained to remove most of its\u00a0<a title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Whey\">whey<\/a>) that I had in the refrigerator. While I knew there would be eggs involved, I also knew that there were all kinds of possibilities for improvisation. I actually had most of the ingredients that might come to mind in that purpose, and some are mentioned on <a href=\"https:\/\/leeandloucook.com\/2017\/04\/11\/spring-breakfast-bowls-olive-oil-fried-eggs-with-labneh\/\">this site<\/a>, but I decided to keep it simple, at least my first time out with this concept.<\/p>\n<p>It was really delicious, and we&#8217;ll occasionally be revisiting this refreshing breakfast form, with all kinds of variations.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I spread the bottoms of 2 shallow bowls with the contents of one container of <a href=\"http:\/\/riverineranch.com\">Riverine Ranch<\/a> Labneh (8 ounces?), not their spiced version, but the plain one (just buffalo milk, cultures, and salt), then mixed in one clove of a crushed fresh garlic clove from Alex&#8217;s Tomato Farm and some juice from a Whole Foods Market organic lemon, slipped\u00a0 2 Americauna chicken eggs from Millport Dairy Farm, that I had fried in olive oil, onto the contents of each bowl, the eggs having already been seasoned with Maldon salt, a little freshly-ground black pepper, a pinch or so of\u00a0a dry seasoning called\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nyshuk.com\/lekama\/\">L\u2019ekama<\/a>\u00a0from Ron &amp; Leetal Arazi\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nyshuk.com\/\">New York Shuk<\/a>, and the same amount of dried fenugreek from <a href=\"http:\/\/bombayemeraldchutneyco.com\/\">Bombay Emerald Chutney Company<\/a> (purchased at the Saturday Chelsea Farmers Market), garnished the bowls with micro purple radish from Windfall Farms, and accompanied the dish with slices of\u00a0a wheat baguette from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.orwashers.com\/\">Orwashers<\/a><\/li>\n<li>the music was the album, &#8216;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.arkivmusic.com\/classical\/album.jsp?album_id=860994\"><em>Pro Pacem &#8211; Textes, Art &amp; Musiques pour la Paix<\/em>&#8216;, Jordi Savall conducting La Capella Reial de Catalunya and Hesp\u00e8rion XXI, with soprano Montserrat Figueras<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This was not our fathers&#8217; Sunday breakfast.
