We\u00a0were hoping to get to Bushwick before sunset, so I was thinking that <em>less<\/em> would give us <em>more<\/em> [time in Brooklyn], so I skipped the alliums and tomatoes this time.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the ingredients that did appear on our plates were half a dozen eggs\u00a0from 2 local suppliers, 4 from Norwich Meadows Farm and 2 pullet eggs from Shannon Brook Farm; bacon from\u00a0Millport Dairy Farm; toast from\u00a0a loaf of Bread Alone&#8217;s 12 grain &amp; seed (organic wheat and whole wheat flours); crumbled dried orange\/gold <a href=\"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/?s=habanada+pepper\">habanada pepper<\/a>: a bit less crumbled dried <em>peperoncino Calabresi secchi<\/em> from Buon Italia; sea salt; freshly-ground black pepper; chopped lovage from Two Guys from Woodbridge; a pinch of fenugreek from\u00a0Nirmala Gupta\u2019s \u2018<a href=\"http:\/\/bombayemeraldchutneyco.com\/info.html\">Bombay Emerald Chutney Company<\/a>\u2018 at Chelsea\u2019s Down to Earth Farmers Market on 23rd Street; and purple micro radish, also from Two Guys from Woodbridge<\/li>\n<li>the music was probably our first nod to the season this year (I resisted just a little, since my December birthday was still to come, but then I retreated), <a href=\"http:\/\/www.arkivmusic.com\/classical\/album.jsp?album_id=565039\">Bach&#8217;s Christmas Oratorio,\u00a0 Philippe Herreweghe conducting soloists\u00a0Michael Chance, Barbara Schlick, Howard Crook, Peter Kooy and the Collegium Vocale<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It was breakfast much as usual, but with fewer\u00a0accoutrements\u00a0today.
