Ottomanelli &amp; Sons Prime Meat Market<\/a>\u00a0on Bleecker Street, dried on paper towels and rubbed with sea salt and one crumbled dried <em>peperoncino Calabresi secchi<\/em> from Buon Italia, placed breast-side-down over medium-high heat on a two-burner cast iron ribbed pan, a number of\u00a0sprigs of fresh thyme from\u00a0S. &amp; S.O. Farm scattered over each, grilled for about 5 minutes, turned and, ensuring that they were now resting\u00a0on<em> top <\/em>of\u00a0the thyme, grilled for another 5 minutes, served with a squeeze of Whole Food Market organic lemon and a drizzle of olive oil<\/li>\n<li>quince and dried cherry chutney, made following\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thekitchn.com\/recipe-quince-c-160946\">this theKitchn.com recipe<\/a>, using a shallot from Keith\u2019s Farm, a garlic clove from Stokes Farm,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.harvesttotable.com\/2007\/12\/quince_cooked_quince_has_a\/\">quince<\/a>\u00a0from\u00a0Red Jacket Orchards, dried sweet cherries from Whole Foods, fresh ginger from Lani\u2019s Farm, and apple cider from Locust Grove Fruit Farm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-14726\" src=\"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/black_futsu_squash.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>one 5-inch\u00a0black futsu squash from Norwich Meadows Farm, scrubbed, halved, the seeds removed, divided into one-inch wedges, brushed lightly with\u00a0olive oil and rubbed with sea salt, freshly-ground black pepper, and one section of a golden dried <a href=\"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/?s=habanada+pepper\">habanada pepper<\/a>, arranged on a large, unglazed, well-seasoned ceramic pan and roasted on one side at 450\u00aa for 15 minutes, turned onto the other side and allowed to roast for 15 more minutes, removed from the oven and the pan and stirred inside a saut\u00e9 pan in which 2 cloves of Keith&#8217;s Farm garlic had been gently heated in a bit of olive oil along with some roughly-chopped sage from\u00a0Phillips Farm<\/li>\n<li>a small amount of red kale from Campo Rosso Farm, washed, drained, and wilted inside a large enameled cast iron pot in a tablespoon or so of olive oil in which\u00a0one bruised and halved clove of Rocambole garlic from Keith\u2019s Farm had first been allowed to sweat and begin to color, the greens seasoned with sea salt, freshly-ground black pepper, and arranged on the plates and a little more olive oil drizzled on top<\/li>\n<li>the wine throughout was a California (Lodi) red,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/us.nakedwines.com\/products\/david-akiyoshi-reserve-cabernet-sauvignon-2015\">David Akiyoshi Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2015<\/a>, from Naked Wines<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There was a simple fruit course.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-14725\" src=\"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Niagara_grapes_Sunday-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Niagara grapes from Locust Grove Fruit Farm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the music, at least through the main course, was <a href=\"http:\/\/Placido Domingo, Bo Skovhus Conductor: Esa-Pekka Salonen Orchestra\/Ensemble: Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra\">Mahler&#8217;s 1908-1909,\u00a0&#8216;Das Lied Von Der Erde&#8217;, with Placido Domingo and Bo Skovhus, Esa-Pekka Salonen conducting the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It was Little Thanksgiving, as in Little Christmas?
