It&#8217;s a subtle herb, and even more subtle as &#8216;micro chervil&#8217;. It&#8217;s also delicate in appearance; that and the combination of anise and parsley flavors interest me, and it has a particular affinity\u00a0for eggs.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the ingredients\u00a0which ended up\u00a0on our plates were eggs from Tamarack Hollow Farm, bacon from Millport Dairy Farm, small red scallions from Hawthorne Valley Farm, fresh habanada pepper from Norwich Meadows Farm, sea salt, freshly-ground black pepper, micro chervil from Two Guys from Woodbridge, and toast from slices of Orwashers sourdough with Moroccan olives<\/li>\n<li>the music was\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.arkivmusic.com\/classical\/album.jsp?album_id=6420\">Wagner&#8217;s 1841\/1852 opera, &#8216;<em>Der Fliegende Holl\u00e4nder<\/em>&#8216;, James Levine conducting the\u00a0Metropolitan Opera orchestra and theMetropolitan Opera Chorus, with\u00a0Ben Heppner, Deborah Voigt, Jan-Hendrik Rootering, Birgitta Svend\u00e9n, Paul Groves, and James Morris<\/a>, heard\u00a0streaming on\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/areena.yle.fi\/1-1260745\">Yle Klassinen<\/a>, beginning just before we sat down<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I wasn&#8217;t originally going to post this breakfast, since there was nothing special about it, but then I realized how seldom chervil appears on these pages &#8211; or anywhere for that matter, outside of France.
