{"id":14226,"date":"2017-09-10T23:28:51","date_gmt":"2017-09-10T23:28:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/?p=14226"},"modified":"2017-09-10T23:28:51","modified_gmt":"2017-09-10T23:28:51","slug":"breakfast-with-fenugreek","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/?p=14226","title":{"rendered":"breakfast with fenugreek"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-14227\" src=\"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/fenugreek_eggs.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m developing an obsession with <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fenugreek\">fenugreek<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-14232\" src=\"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/fenugreek_Trigonella_foenum-graecum0_clean.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"660\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After our experience with it on eggs this morning (afternoon), it\u00a0will be difficult for me to keep it away from our late Sunday breakfasts.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s not as if there were no other seasonings involved, but the fenugreek I purchased from\u00a0Nirmala Gupta\u2019s \u2018<a href=\"http:\/\/bombayemeraldchutneyco.com\/info.html\">Bombay Emerald Chutney Company<\/a>\u2018 at Chelsea\u2019s Down to Earth Farmers Market on 23rd Street is what I remember this time.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the elements of the meal were eggs and thick bacon from Millport Dairy Farm, toasts from 3 different breads, second-day, or older (that is, a Balthazar baguette, an Orwasher&#8217;s multigrain, and a multigrain and seeded Bread Alone loaf), a bit of the green section from a Japanese scallion from Norwich Meadows Farm, tiny pieces of a medium hot Calabrian cherry pepper from Alewife Farm, sea salt, freshly-ground black pepper, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.organicvalley.coop\/products\/butter\/pasture-butter\/\">Organic Valley \u2018Cultured Pasture Butter\u2019<\/a>, and bronze micro fennel from Two Guys from Woodbridge<\/li>\n<li>the music was the\u00a01656-1657 <a href=\"http:\/\/naxosdirect.com\/items\/benevolo-missa-azzolina-magnificat-dixit-dominus-221664\">&#8216;Missa Azzolina&#8217; of Orazio Benevolo (or Benevoli), performed by Le Concert Spirituel directed by Herv\u00e9\u00a0Niquet<\/a>\u00a0[more on the piece <a href=\"https:\/\/www.naxos.com\/mainsite\/blurbs_reviews.asp?item_code=8.553636&amp;catNum=553636&amp;filetype=About%20this%20Recording&amp;language=English\">here<\/a>]<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m developing an obsession with fenugreek.
