And you can enjoy it in the comfort of your own home,\u00a0especially when Dolores, the wife of the fisherman <a href=\"http:\/\/gothamist.com\/2012\/02\/11\/snack_on_sea_snails_whelks_for_sale.php\">Phil Karlin<\/a>, has made the crab cakes.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>two crab cakes from <a href=\"https:\/\/janniesusan.blogspot.com\/2015\/10\/an-abundant-life-catch-of-day.html\">PE &amp; DD Seafood<\/a> (crab, egg, flour, red &amp; green peppers, garlic, salt, pepper, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, milk, celery, and parsley), defrosted earlier in the evening, heated with a drizzle of olive oil inside a heavy oval enameled cast iron\u00a0pan, 3\u00a0to 4\u00a0minutes to each side,\u00a0served on a\u00a0salsa\u00a0composed of chopped mixed heirloom tomatoes (including one tiny hard green one) from Berried Treasures Farm, sea salt, freshly-ground\u00a0black pepper, a bit of a bit of a homemade French Basque\u00a0 <em><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Espelette_pepper\">piment d\u2019Espellate<\/a><\/em>\u00a0we had purchased in a small town north of Baie-Comeau, Quebec from the producer\u2019s daughter, much of one small red\u00a0<span class=\"s2\"><b><a href=\"http:\/\/www.specialtyproduce.com\/produce\/Calabrian_Chile_Peppers_12814.php\">Calabrian chili pepper<\/a>\u00a0<\/b><\/span>from Alewife Farm, and some torn fresh basil pulled off of a very much alive\u00a0plant from Stokes Farm, both\u00a0crab cakes and salsa finished with a sprinkling of\u00a0micro lemon peppercress from Two Guys from Woodbridge<\/li>\n<li>a salad of\u00a0arugula\u00a0and\u00a0fennel buds, both from Berried Treasures; thinly-sliced red radishes from Row By Row Farm; sliced\u00a0Japanese scallions from Norwich Meadows Farm; chopped baby fennel fronds from Paffenroth Farms, all tossed together with a bit of sea salt; freshly-ground black pepper; Sicilian olive oil from Whole Foods Market; and\u00a0organic lemon juice from Whole Foods Market<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p3\">There was a small cheese course.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p3\">portions of two cow cheeses, &#8216;Pawlet&#8217; and &#8216;Rupert&#8217;, from Consider Bardwell Farm<\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\">toasts from a Balthazar baguette<\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\">some delicious <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Canadice_(grape)\">Candice red seedless grapes<\/a> from Troncillito Farms, their stand in the Union Square Greenmarket.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p3\">the wine throughout was a Portuguese (Douro) white, <a href=\"https:\/\/quintadocrasto.pt\/crasto-white\/?lang=en\">Crasto Douro D.O.C. 2014<\/a>, from Manley&#8217;s Wine &amp; Spirits, 35 8th Avenue<\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\">the music through the meal was from the album, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/dp\/B0724Z2QWY\">&#8216;Live from Lugano Festival 2016<\/a>&#8216;, Ravel&#8217;s Piano Concerto in G, and his &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gaspard_de_la_nuit\">Gaspard de la nuit<\/a>&#8216;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s the perfect fast food.
