The first time it was veal,\u00a0this time it was goat, both as superlative as\u00a0Consider Bardwell&#8217;s acclaimed\u00a0cheeses.<\/p>\n<p>The sausage was wonderful. It was also\u00a0so juicy it really didn&#8217;t need a sauce or condiment, although I found one and had put it on the table before I realized it hardly asked for it. But, as a combination of cranberries and mustard, it was a perfect match.<\/p>\n<p>With this meal my supply of these very good sweet peppers has finally been exhausted.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>four spicy goat sausage links (one pound) from Consider Bardwell Farm, pan-grilled then arranged on a bed of arugula from Franco&#8217;s Berried Treasures [the sausage ingredients included goat meat, salt, spices (including red pepper, paprika, cumin, ground mustard), dextrose, sugar, garlic powder, natural spice extractives (including paprika, pepper), and natural hog casings], served with <a href=\"http:\/\/beavertonfoods.com\/product\/inglehoffer-cranberry-mustard\/\">Inglehoffer\u00a0 cranberry mustard<\/a>\u00a0(yeah,\u00a0that rightness of that condiment was a surprise to me as well)<\/li>\n<li>a few super-sweet, red and orange, \u2018Cornito\u201d peppers\u00a0and a dark green poblano, all from Alewife Farm, cut, after the seeds and\u00a0membranes were removed, into bite-size pieces, saut\u00e9ed over a high flame until slightly caramelized, slivers of Calabrian pepper, baby fennel, fennel fronds, one sliced Japanese scallion, and a pinch of crushed dark dried\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/?s=habanada+pepper\">habanada pepper<\/a>\u00a0added near the end, the mix tossed with sea salt, freshly-ground black pepper and some chopped summer savory\u00a0from Ryder Farm, and served with a drizzle of olive oil<\/li>\n<li>the wine was a California (Santa Barbara) red,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/us.nakedwines.com\/wines\/rick-boyer-santa-barbara-syrah-2016.htm\">Rick Boyer Santa Barbara County Syrah 2016<\/a>, from <a href=\"https:\/\/us.nakedwines.com\/\">Naked Wines<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There was a dessert.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-14148\" src=\"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/ice-cream_blackberries-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>blackberries from Locust Grove Orchards, some of them mashed with a little turbinado sugar and a\u00a0couple teaspoons of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.capriflavors.com\/index.php?main_page=product_info&amp;cPath=1&amp;products_id=1593&amp;zenid=0fa0a1fdceefabc7f9e173668e79b855\">Toschi Orzata Orgeat<\/a>\u00a0syrup to make a self-sauce, the berries scattered on top of a scoop of some fantastic <a href=\"http:\/\/riverineranch.com\/index.html\">Riverine Ranch<\/a> Water Buffalo Sweet Cream Ice Cream\u00a0[the ingredients are buffalo milk, organic farm eggs, pure cane sugar, organic coconut flour, and salt], and the sauce drizzled over the ice cream and the berries<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the music throughout the meal was the album, &#8216;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lapq.org\/beyond\">Beyond<\/a>&#8216;, with performances by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lapq.org\/\">the Los Angeles Percussion Quartet<\/a> of music by <a href=\"https:\/\/danielbjarnason.net\/\">Dan\u00edel\u00a0\u00a0Bjarnason<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.annathorvalds.com\/\">Anna Thorvaldsdottir<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.christophercerrone.com\/\">Christopher Cerrone<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ellenreidmusic.com\/\">Ellen Reid<\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.septimalcomma.com\/\">Andrew McIntosh<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This was the second day in a row that we enjoyed meats from one of our favorite local cheese makers.
