It was pretty much Sunday breakfast as usual, although the plate may have been a little less busy than some have been.<\/p>\n<p>But there was that \u00a0sprinkling of garlic flower on top of the eggs. \u00a0I could get very used to that garnish, but it&#8217;s clearly defined by a short season.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-13383\" src=\"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/garlic_flowers.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>there were small very fresh eggs from Echo Creek Farm, of Salem, New York\u00a0(a stall at Chelsea&#8217;s Saturday Down to Earth Farmers Market); thick bacon from Millport Dairy Farm; small cherry tomatoes from Stokes Farm, cooked with a little red spring onion and torn basil, also from Stokes Farm; one section of a small dried golden <a href=\"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/?s=habanada+pepper\">habanada pepper<\/a>, crushed on top of the eggs; one small chopped garlic flower from Windfall Farms, also on the eggs; slices of lightly-toasted Balthazar rye boule, from Schaller &amp; Weber; and a dab of a sun-dried chilli-pepper harissa from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nyshuk.com\/shop\/\">NYShuk Pantry<\/a><\/li>\n<li>the day&#8217;s liturgical music was\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/soundcircus.com\/albums\/messiaen-vingt-regards-sur-lenfant-jesus\/\">Messiaen, &#8216;<em>Vingt regards sur l&#8217;enfant J\u00e9sus<\/em>&#8216;, performed by\u00a0Joanna MacGregor<\/a> [it&#8217;s supposed to be contemplative, a prayer to a divine\u00a0child, but I think of it as a noble homage to the birds]<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nothing unusual going on here.
