This time, except for some refrigerator-dried cut chive, I left the\u00a0alliums out entirely, and, except\u00a0for a tiny bit of cooked tomato juices\u00a0I had been keeping since <a href=\"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/2017\/03\/27\/sunday-breakfast-later-than-usual-but-still-a-breakfast\/\">the previous Sunday breakfast<\/a>, there were no tomatoes.<\/p>\n<p>There seemed to be even more\u00a0rich flavor than usual however, the eggs in particular, while their yolks may look a bit less spectacular than they might (the farmer&#8217;s free-range hens must have been very happy last week).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>what there was this morning were eggs and bacon from Millport Dairy Farm, the eggs dusted with a little dried dark habanada pepper, Maldon salt, freshly-ground Tellicherry pepper, chopped thyme from Eataly, chopped lovage from Two Guys from Woodbridge, and, at the end, a bit of some juices left from a breakfast the week before (made by heating Backyard Farms Maine \u2018cocktail tomatoes\u2019 from Whole\u00a0Foods in a little olive oil, adding\u00a0a little thyme from Eataly, salt, and freshly-ground pepper), served on 2 plates with a sprinkling of dried chives from Phillips Farm<\/li>\n<li>there was light toast, of slices from\u00a0a small ciabatta and a small &#8216;El Bario whole wheat&#8217;, both from\u00a0Hot Bread Kitchen<\/li>\n<li>the music was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.arkivmusic.com\/classical\/album.jsp?album_id=1146582\">Haydn&#8217;s\u00a0&#8216;<em>Die Sch\u00f6pfung<\/em>&#8216; [The Creation], Ren\u00e9 Jacobs <\/a><br \/>\nconducting the\u00a0Freiburg Baroque Orchestra and the Berlin RIAS Chamber Chorus<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I vary the ingredients each week, but very dramatically\u00a0(it&#8217;s effectively morning for us,\u00a0so there&#8217;s not a lot of ready imagination before I start cooking).
