I had made no plans for\u00a0Sunday dinner. One of the advantages of living where we do is the availability of stores with excellent makings for a last-minute meal, and that&#8217;s how I was able to pull this one\u00a0off.<\/p>\n<p>The salumi, the hearty bread, and the house-made filled pasta were all purchased 2 blocks away from our home after we had been dropped off, steps\u00a0away,\u00a0by the party bus that had taken\u00a0us to Ridgewood and back.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>slices of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.seriouseats.com\/2015\/12\/labor-of-love-the-long-road-to-prosciutto-di-parma.html\">Tanara prosciutto 24 months<\/a>, from Eataly, wrapped around the tines of a large fork, arranged on 2 plates, drizzled with\u00a0a good Campania olive oil (Lamparelli O.R.O.), garnished with a bit of chopped parsley from Eataly\u00a0and chopped scallion from Norwich Meadows Farm, served with slices of a fantastic, very sturdy &#8216;<em>Mediterraneo pane<\/em>&#8216;, again from Eataly (whole wheat and\u00a0whole rye flours;\u00a0pumpkin, sesame, poppy, sunflower, and flax\u00a0seeds; millet and\u00a0faro)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-11945\" src=\"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/pansotti_spinach_tomato.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>spinach\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/it.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pansoti\">Pansotti Liguri<\/a>\u00a0from\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pastaioluca.com\/\">Luca Donofrio<\/a>\u2018s fresh pasta\u00a0shop inside\u00a0Eataly (it&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/1990\/01\/28\/travel\/a-cuisine-of-humble-origins.html?pagewanted=all\">a Ligurian thing<\/a>, also very likely a seasonal, specifically Lenten thing), served with a simple sauce composed of 4 slices from each of\u00a04 Backyard Farms Maine \u2018cocktail tomatoes\u2019 from Whole Foods gently heated in olive oil inside a large enameled cast iron pan, plus salt, freshly-ground Tellicherry pepper, chopped red thyme from Phillips Farm, transferred to shallow bowls, a bit of chopped wild\u00a0garlic from Lani\u2019s Farm scattered on top, then garnished with a very small amount of freshly-grated <em>Parmigiano &amp; Reggiano Bonat 5 anni<\/em> from Buon Italia<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>the wine was an Italian (Piedmont) white,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.chelseawinevault.com\/villa-sparina-gavi-2015#.WLzT-Tw8KaM\">Villa Sparina Gavi 2015<\/a>, from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chelseawinevault.com\/\">Chelsea Wine Vault<\/a><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>the music was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.arkivmusic.com\/classical\/album.jsp?album_id=62155\">Domenico\u00a0Cimarosa&#8217;s 1792 opera, &#8216;Il Matrimonio Segreto&#8217;, Gabriele Bellini conducting the Orchestra of Eastern Netherlands<\/a><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Because we were to be in Connecticut all day for the\u00a0opening reception of William Powhida&#8217;s first museum show, &#8216;After the Contemporary&#8216;.
