D. Seafood,\u00a0marinated for about half an hour (half of that time in the refrigerator) in a bowl containing a\u00a0mixture of the zest and juice of most of one lemon, thinly-sliced garlic\u00a0from Race\u00a0Farm,\u00a0olive oil, pungent\u00a0dried Italian oregano from Buon Italia, some finely-chopped no-heat Habanada pepper from Norwich Meadows Farm, and a finely-chopped\u00a0section of one\u00a0medium-hot red cherry pepper from Oak Grove Plantation, salt, and pepper, removed from the marinade, drained, pan-grilled briefly over high heat, arranged\u00a0on plates, drizzled\u00a0with fresh lemon juice and sprinkled with micro red sorrel\u00a0from Two Guys from Woodbridge\u00a0[the basic recipe, minus the micro radish, with more specific instructions appears <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodnetwork.com\/recipes\/oregano-lemon-grilled-calamari-recipe.html\">here<\/a>]<\/li>\n<li>two green tomatoes from Tamarack Hollow Farm and two medium red onions from Norwich Meadows Farm, sliced into rough sections, tossed together with a little olive oil, salt, and pepper, spread onto a large\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pamperedchef.com\/shop\/Stoneware\/Large+Bar+Pan\/1445\">Pampered Chef unglazed ceramic pan,<\/a>\u00a0roasted at around 375\u00ba for about 25 minutes, or until both tomatoes and onions were tender and slightly browned, arranged on plates and sprinkled with\u00a0purple micro radish from\u00a0Windfall Farms<\/li>\n<li>the wine was a California (Napa) white,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/us.nakedwines.com\/wines\/sin-fronteras-chardonnay-napa-2015.htm?cid=USA\">Sin Fronteras Chardonnay Napa 2015<\/a><\/li>\n<li>the music was that of <a href=\"http:\/\/v\">Poul Ruders, his &#8216;Nightshade Trilogy&#8217;<\/a>, on <a href=\"http:\/\/bridgerecords.com\/\">Bridge Records;<\/a>\u00a0the composer describes the work\u00a0as,\u00a0&#8220;..a collection of compositions that evoke for me an almost Gothic association with pale moonlight, tombstones crypts and the elusive shadows deep inside an ancient forest at the deep of night.&#8221; (I think we got the Halloween thing down tonight)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I couldn&#8217;t help it: I had the micro greens handy,\u00a0and, even after I had finished cooking them, both the squid and the vegetables seemed to be asking for something more.
