They, or a handful of them, along with some breadsticks, were only an appetizer. They occupy their place because I decided they looked as good in the picture &#8211; even a bit <em>theatrical<\/em> &#8211; as they tasted, and I\u00a0had already led these posts with an image of a frittata more often than that of a lone vegetable.<\/p>\n<p>This is the frittata..<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10090\" src=\"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/frittata_peppers_scallion.jpg\" alt=\"frittata_peppers_scallion\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p>..this is what it looked like (apparently in the dark) after being taken\u00a0from the broiler..<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10092\" src=\"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/frittata_in_pan.jpg\" alt=\"frittata_in_pan\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<p>..this an image of the bin of sweet peppers which\u00a0contributed to the meal..<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10091\" src=\"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/peppers.jpg\" alt=\"peppers\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<p>..this the stack of Japanese scallions (mine is the one on the left).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10104\" src=\"http:\/\/food.hoggardwagner.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Japanese_scallions.jpg\" alt=\"japanese_scallions\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I had to document the ingredients of the\u00a0luscious (I think I&#8217;m hooked\u00a0on that word for certain usages) pepper frittata with some quick notes even as\u00a0I was putting it together: I was pretty much making it up as I went along, and couldn&#8217;t be sure I\u00a0could trust my memory to\u00a0such things.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a couple handfuls of small sweet particolored peppers from Stokes Farm, saut\u00e9ed until beginning to caramelize, joined by slices of 2 cloves of\u00a0&#8216;German Hardneck&#8217;\u00a0garlic from Race Farm, one finely-sliced red Anaheim pepper from\u00a0Oak Grove Plantation, and 3 or 4 Japanese scallions, sliced, from Norwich Meadows Farm, all now saut\u00e9ed until softened, after which an\u00a0ounce of\u00a0shredded slices of sweet coppa (capocollo) from Eataly were distributed over the top, everything covered with a whipped mix of 8 eggs from Millport Dairy Farm, salt, pepper, a couple tablespoons of water, and a few tablespoons of chopped herbs (parsley, julip mint, and lovage from Keith&#8217;s Farm; marjoram and\u00a0rosemary from Stokes Farm), before pinches of French Basque\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Espelette_pepper\">piment d\u2019Espellate<\/a><\/em>\u00a0were scattered on the surface, and slices of one medium yellow heriloom tomato from Eckerton Hill Farm\u00a0arranged on top of everything, the pan allowed to cook on top of the stove until the egg at the outer edges had set, then finished in the broiler,for a very few minutes, or until the eggs were barely set and the surface\u00a0had begun to brown, removed, served (initially one quarter of the frittata palced on each of the 2 plates, as seen in the picture above), there sprinkled with micro basil from Two Guys from Woodbridge<\/li>\n<li>the wine was a Chilean (Central Valley) red, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.casillerodeldiablo.com\/wines\/reserva\/carmenere\">Casillero del Diablo Carmenere 2014<\/a><\/li>\n<li>the music was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.arkivmusic.com\/classical\/album.jsp?album_id=32384\">Per\u00a0Norg\u00e5rd, Symphony No 3<\/a>, Leif Segerstam conducting the Danish National Radio Symphony Orchestra and\u00a0the Danish National Radio Choir<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>These &#8216;French breakfast radishes&#8217; weren&#8217;t the featured players last night, even if they were really good.
